How Would You Share the News of a Jackpot Win?
Here at The Lottery Office we have been having a little debate as to who we would tell first about a major lottery win. So far, our priorities seem to be to tell our partners and then our mothers! What was most interesting though is that the question didn’t prove that difficult as it does seem to be a scenario a few of us have already dreamed about. The fantastic feeling of not only winning but also being able to spread the joyful news amongst our nearest and dearest is one that we find very exciting.
Our discussions also raised the question of how we would share such big news as well. Some love the idea of throwing a big party and having a special announcement while others like the idea of not telling anyone and anonymously helping their family and friends fulfill their dreams.
One couple recently decided playing a joke on their children would be a unique way to share their news. After scooping up $9.7 Million Canadian dollars in the 6/49 Lottery, Daniel Schilli and his wife resolved to keep it a secret so that their children would only find out about their massive win after watching the news.
However, remaining silent can prove quite difficult as Daniel says,
‘My wife and I have been walking around the house giggling because we just can’t believe it!’
One can only imagine the excitement Daniel and his wife felt when the family sat down to watch the evening news together, his three youngest children completely unaware that their lives were about to change forever.
You can never really know how you’re going to react to a big win but one thing’s for certain, its a great daydream and as Daniel Schulli knows, dreams can come true!
