The Gold Rush is on! UK Lotto Jackpot hits record £50m!
Demand for lottery tickets could reach extraordinary levels this week as punters try to get their hands on a record prize fund of more than £50 million.
Wednesday’s UK National Lottery rollover jackpot stands at an estimated £50.4 million after Saturday’s £46.5 million sum went unclaimed.
The sum is the highest Lotto jackpot ever.
A spokeswoman for Camelot, the National Lottery operator, told the Telegraph: “The largest Lotto jackpot the nation has ever seen is waiting to be won by someone in the UK.
“If a single ticketholder wins Wednesday’s estimated £50.4m jackpot, they will be the biggest Lotto jackpot winner ever.
According to The Sunday Times Rich List 2015, if a player won Wednesday’s entire jackpot their wealth would be on a par with Adele, worth an estimated £50 million, while they would be wealthier than sports stars Andy Murray and Rory McIlroy, believed to be worth £48 million and £38 million respectively.
